About 30% of all children with hearing loss are born with normal hearing. Parents need to know that 90% of hearing impaired children are born to normal hearing parents.

Most hospitals hire distant adequate firms for basic Newborn Hearing Screening. With a little training most hospitals use automated machines that indicate only "PASS/REFER". It usually take less than 5 minutes. Audiologists do more complete in-depth testing affordably and accurately.
